Stephen Hunter
Stephen Hunter, Global Ambassador for Dementia Foundation for Spark of Life
Stephen Hunter is an acclaimed New Zealand actor, well known for his role as Bombur, in the blockbuster Hobbit film series. In Ruby’s Choice, Stephen plays the role of Doug, Ruby’s son in law, a likeable and compassionate man, who knows very little about dementia, but is a strong support for Ruby being empowered and respected to make her own choices, despite her diagnosis.
Stephen has been honoured with a new role as Global Ambassador for Dementia Foundation for Spark of Life.
Stephen has a strong humanitarian spirit, and believes people with dementia, and their families, still need moments of joy and humour in their lives. He drew on personal inspiration from his father in the role of Doug in Ruby’s Choice, bringing wit and sensitive humour to lighten serious moments.
